SOME OF OUR FAVORITE COSMETIC CASES

Everyone wants to see the complete "Smile Makeover" or as we used to say, that "Hollywood Smile". Treatment usually involves removing all old silver fillings and metal crowns and replacing with contemporary, metal free, restorative materials. We have been providing fine cosmetic services, both full mouth and smaller segment cases, for more than 25 years. Many of our cosmetic patients say we "changed their life". Cases like these remind me why I got into Dentistry in the first place. Lets take a look at some before and after photos ..........

CASE #1

The following photos show a typical Full Mouth Rehabiltation utilizing fillings, root canals, posts and cores, all topped off with distinctive "metal free" cosmetic crowns. 2 "before" photos show many years of neglect due to that common fear of going to the dentist. We always start with simple "pain free" procedures first, and with time, these patients calm down and realize that it's not as bad as they thought it would be. Once they realize how easy it is to look and feel great, improvements occur quickly. In less than a year we were able to make a substantial improvement in her smile and confidence.

The first 2 photos are the "before" shots. The third photo shows 4 lower cosmetic crowns cemented. Note the color change we are able to enjoy when fabricating multiple anterior crowns. The last photo shows a distinctive smile and a happy patient!

Case #2

The first case is Jan M. Happy about her New Look she writes: " I had not been to a dentist in quite a long time. I was absolutely determined...to smile again. ....I kept searching online and found Dr. Tedesco's site..... Even after my first visit I was able to start feeling confident in my smile! Please feel free to ask Dr. Tedesco to see my before and after photos and you will see why I feel like I just received the best present ever."

A typical case....she hasn't smiled in years. No one should have to live this way. For what ever reason, she decided the time was now and we were happy we could help. The final pic shows another happy patient

Case #3

THE NEXT CASE SHOWS A 55 YEAR OLD FEMALE WHO NEVER SMILED AND ALWAYS DISLIKED HER FRONT TEETH. SHE EVEN WANTED ME TO EXTRACT THEM ALL AND MAKE A FULL DENTURE. WE CONVINCED HER TO HAVE THE COSMETIC CROWN WORK DONE INSTEAD AND SHE CRIED FOR JOY WHEN WE CEMENTED HER CROWNS. THAT WAS A NICE DAY!

Case #4

A 57 YEAR OLD MALE, RECENTLY DIVORCED AND GOING TO JAMAICA TO HAVE SOME FUN. A NEW SMILE WILL HELP THE CAUSE. NO PROBLEM MAN...

Case #5

HERE IS AN OLD 6 UNIT BRIDGE THAT BROKE AFTER MANY YEARS OF USE. WE REPLACED IT WITH AN 8 UNIT BRIDGE. THE NEW ONE LOOKS GREAT!

Case #6

This case should have been corrected with orthodontics 40 years ago. Instead she has been hiding her smile all this time....... But not anymore!

Case #7 - IMPLANT CASE:

When Adequate Healthy Bone exists at the Implant Site, Immediate load Implants enable us to place an Implant, and a Crown on the Implant, in one comfortable Appointment! This case is of a type that we see over and over again. Many young adults require the replacement of upper lateral incisors that never developed at birth. Utilizing bone condensing immediate implants and our patented surgical placement system we were able to help Alyssa smile again....IMMEDIATELY! The 2 photos taken during the procedure show the clean, trauma free placement of one of the implants and the "after" photo with the two temporary incisor crowns cemented in place. The final crowns will be fabricated and cemented in a few weeks.

Alyssa was thrilled with the result, and was kind enough to offer these words for your consideration of her experience the day of surgery....

"I was referred to Dr. Tedesco by my dental lab instructor for dental implants on both of my laterals. After just one consultation with him, I knew that this is who I wanted to work on my teeth. The technology and software he uses for xrays are very impressive and I was assured this guy knew exactly what he was doing. There were lots of pre work that needed to be done before I went along with the implants such as scans, impressions, and bone probing for measurements but this was because he made sure everything would be perfect. During the actual surgery, I was incredibly nervous. Surprisingly, the procedure was nearly painless! The whole thing took 3 and a half hours. This was because after the abutment was put into my jaw he would take an xray to make sure the placement was perfect. Then after every time it went in further, he would take another xray to make sure it was precise. I am SO glad we went with Tedesco because I know I had gotten the best possible experience I could get!"

Case #8

A routine 3 unit case with a very nice result. Vern gave us permission to show his case and offers the following words for your consideration. He writes, " In my experience with my dental implants, I found the procedure to be pain free and comfortable. I went ahead with implants because my teeth were in need of repair. It was such an improvement on my appearance. I was very pleased with the results and the experience of Dr. Tedesco and his staff. " -----Vernen Seamans------

Case #9

Many times we will finish a single tooth case in 2 short appointments. This is much easier than the 5 or 6 appointments required to perform root canals and crown preps on the adjacent teeth and fabricate a three unit fixed bridge, just to replace one tooth!

The patient writes...

Years ago, Dr. Tedesco and his staff completed a Dental Implant Restoration for me on an upper tooth. The ultimate decision to have this done turned out to be a wise one, both in terms of functionally and cosmetic purposes.

The entire process was a relatively comfortable procedure with very little associated discomfort. Since implant complete I have had no problem with restored tooth and am considering an additional implant restoration in the near future. I would highly recommend this option for best long lasting results.

Case #10

Implant Crown "Tight Squeeze"

Working with young adults who have been missing a front tooth because it never developed, is always fun, but can also be a bit of a challenge. Many times as was the case here, the roots of the adjacent teeth are so close together there is barely enough room for any size implant!

Luckily, using a narrow diameter implant and our precise Implant Placement System, we were able to help this girl smile again. 🙂

Due to the complexity of this case we placed the implant and a temporary crown one day. (3rd picture) And a few weeks later we placed the final crown.

Before seeing us, this patient had been told she would need orthodontic care to separate the roots, block bone grafting to create a wider ridge to accept a wide diameter implant and an expensive multi-stage implant with an expensive cosmetic abutment. This treatment may have taken 2 years to complete. $5000.00 is probably a conservative estimate as to the cost. We were able to make her smile for less than a third of that. Total time.....3 weeks!

1st Apt: Consultation, health history, XR, evaluate periodontal condition, check ridge dimensions, select Implant, review the surgical procedure, pre-op instructions, Impressions, shade matching

2nd Apt: Place the implant using our surgical stent placement system, impression for final crown, fit and cement the temporary crown.

3rd Apt: Fit and cement final crown....... and SMILE!

Case#11  - Posterior Bridge implant secured

OK Folks....down to the nitty-gritty....If you don't want to see little implants emanating from the ridge of a real mouth...then DON'T LOOK AT THIS CASE! OK... you have been warned ... 🙂

We put 2 implants in one day and 2 more a few days later. This photo is immediately after the last placement. You will notice it's not a messy procedure as we usually use a non-invasive technique. this way we don't need sutures and we don't need to wait 6 weeks for the tissue to heal and stabilize in shape. We take the impression the same day and 2 weeks later we cement the bridge Very fast & comfortable for the patient.

The middle photo shows some 'behind the scenes' action. When we receive the case from the ceramic technician, we check it for quality, anatomy and fit.

The last pic shows it cemented in place. It has been designed to allow thorough cleaning of the supporting implants.

There.....that wasn't so bad.....was it?

Case#12  - Lower Full Denture - Implant Supported

Warning! Abutments ahead .... If you don't want to look at implants emanating from someone’s mouth, go to another page, as they are not pretty. But for someone who can only eat oatmeal because their denture can't chew real food, they are gorgeous!

Now this patient can eat a steak and salad again....

The denture now has 'O' rings that snap over the abutments. It's almost like real teeth again!
